One of the cool things about January (besides making new resolutions) is getting to see the return of some really great TV shows and also the mid-season premiere of new shows hoping to last longer than the Playboy Club did. As for myself, I can't wait for the following:
Returning
Jan. 17 (FX) : Justified - Season 3 promos haven't shown much of what to expect but if it's anything like Season 2 was, we're in for good time.
Jan. 17 (TNT) : SouthLAnd - Seems so long ago that TNT saved this gritty cop show which is one of my personal faves and with the addition of Lucy Liu, I can't wait to see what these guys will come up with next.
New
Jan. 16 (FOX) : Alcatraz - I gotta admit I am intrigued by the premise and with a cast that features Sam Neill and Jorge Garcia, this looks like another possible winner from J.J. Abrams.
Jan. 12 (CBS) : ROB! - It's been awhile since Rob Schneider has been on the scene but this new sitcom also starring Cheech Marin could have potential. Having a lead-in like Big Bang Theory should help establishing an audience.
Jan. 12 (FOX) : The Finder - Bones Spin-off with Michael Clarke Duncan. Let's hope it finds an audience. Yeah, I went there.
Jan. 29 (HBO) : Luck - Having already seen the preview episode of the Michael Mann produced drama starring Dustin Hoffman, I can't wait for this show to make its debut at the end of the month.
I know there are a bunch of other shows premiering this month, but my DVR can't handle all of them. I still have to catch up on my Hawaii Five-O and Person of Interest.
Regards,
The Projectionist
